Abstract
Clinical Simulation in Nursing permits students the acquisition of knowledge and technical abilities while recreating situations with complex problems without exposing the hospitalised in need of Nursing care. These didactic strategies are highly necessary in the current context which demands more advanced training of nurses, the evidence of which was more clearly seen during the covid-19 pandemic (de Oliviera Costa, et. al., 2021). For this, it is absolutely necessary to count on adequate simulators which are, in general imported and costly. In order to contribute solutions in this regard, the objective was accomplished within the framework of the Accreditable Research and Development Project (Proyecto de Investigación y Desarrollo Acreditable, abbreviated to PIDAC) of the Universidad Autónoma de Entre Ríos (UADER) entitled “A Simulator for Nursing”. The aim here was to contribute to the improvement, design, development and making of a high fidelity, low cost prototype simulator for teaching nursing practices. The project was carried out in four stages comprising the design and graphic-artistic development of the prototype, the development of a software and of electromechanical devices, the making and assembling of the components and the testing of the simulator. The results obtained can be seen in simulation equipment that consists of an adult mannequin and a multi-parametric monitor simulator which would not have been possible without collaborative, inter-disciplinary work.
