Nursing is an indispensable discipline when it comes to guaranteeing universal accessibility to health and qualified nurses fulfil a fundamental role in providing care to people and communities. In Argentina, those who qualify graduate exclusively from universities, so that Nursing is treated as a career that is of public interest. In this sense, given the complexity of university life that the students must lead, it is important that universities can guarantee efficient mechanisms of entrance to these same institutions of higher education, as well as permanence and graduation.
This article provides knowledge of the assessment of the Entrance Course from the point of view of the students in the Nursing Degree at the Faculty of Life
Sciences and Health (FCVyS), that depends on the Universidad Autónoma de Entre Ríos (UADER), based on a descriptive, quantitative study with a transversal profile that allowed the recognition of results of these transversal modules and accompanying strategies.
The population studied was of students who began the first and second cycle of the Nursing Degree in 2023 whose data was compiled and analysed statistically. Based on these findings, a diagnostic of the situation was made in a comparative manner, between students of the first and second cycle along with a proposal for improvements and strengthening of the course to guarantee university entrance to this study programme.
