Through an exploratory-descriptive study, we seek to identify and characterize the relationship between theory and practice established by students of Teaching Practices II of the Biology faculty of the FCyT, UADER (Oro Verde). Through interviews and analysis of the didactic planning of ten teaching practitioners, it is observed that when planning didactic sequences there are different degrees of difficulty in applying the current theoretical framework of science teaching.
It is also seen that the theory and practice relationships established are mostly subordinate and disconnected. The conclusion is that there is a disconnection between didactic theory and classroom practices of pre-service teachers, and that this is a complex situation, due to multiple reasons. Among the possible causes that stand out are: poor understanding of the didactic and disciplinary theoretical frameworks, limited contact of pre-service teachers with classroom practice, and poor reflection on their teaching practices. Possible actions are also proposed to promote articula-
tion between theory and practice towards the professional development of future Biology teachers.
