The population of 65 years and over is the group with the highest demographic growth; it is also a population with a high loss of stature owing to historic changes that have defined economic well being as the unique means to social importance. This education has relegated to second place all that is associated with healthcare for those who have arrived at the last stages of life. While this is so, it has also allowed for a surplus of everything related with the treatment of illnesses as though this were the only way the importance of this section of the population could be reaffirmed in society. Given this situation, the objective of this study has been the demographic and social characteristics of Senior Citizens in the province of Entre Rios and their relation with the activities dedicated to healthcare of the elderly. The work brings to surface an unexpected situation which is the numerous healthcare activities for elders in Entre Rios. However this positive aspect contrasts with the way in which decisions are taken regarding the planning and execution of all that is destined to be adult healthcare in this Argentine province.
