Abstract

In 1994, the province of Entre Ríos sanctions the Mental Health Law 8806 as a result of a process of regulation of hospitalization practices and facing up the desmanicomialization movements. This norm responds to largely relegated interests and aims to provide consistency in relation to Human Rights, based primarily on health care. The way toward this goal was sectorized and only isolated results were achieved, with serious troubles of continuity, which involve the need to go deeper and deeper into the basic demands that claim the declaration of principles of the law, as well as the inclusion of the main pending matters about integral promotion and prevention of health. A brief overview of this matter between 1987 and 2007 is proposed.
