Abstract

In this paper we present some methodological difficulties and challenges that arose in our research experience on problems related to our recent past. Within the framework of our bachelor's thesis in anthropology, we investigate political  prison as a link in the repressive circuit during State terrorism (1974-1983), carrying out field work with former political
prisoners (Guirado, 2018). In this paper we do not propose to present the analysis of the thesis but rather to recover a methodological aspect that was, at that time, overlapped. We look for to delve into questions and drifts that emerged regarding the methodological approach to political violence in our recent past. Our objective is to investigate the complexities, tensions, contradictions and difficulties of field work, distinguishing aspects linked to the interview situations, and drifts related to the involvement itself.
