Abstract

In this paper, the first part of our research, we show the detailed structure of a model and its use in data processing to achieve substantial improvements in business decision making. Our approach is based on the analysis of academic perspectives and the Argentinean managerial reality. This analysis reflects an apparent divorce between systems used by companies and the progress of research in university research teams. It may seem a subjective outlook emerging from our personal experiences, but that deserves our attention to find ways that lead us to a better use of resources. In a companion paper, we will cover subject related to the implementation and obtained results.
